Song of the day

Song of the day.....Master and Servant by Nouvelle Vague ft Martin Gore (from Depeche Mode)....a remake (and in my opinion a better version) of Depeche Mode's original song Master and Servant....lovely...click here to listen

Love it!

Oh and my lost mail finally came....I got a super nice black and white dress with Peter Pan collar (ala YSL SS 10') and a cool detailed back on a blog shop (Fashion Lodge) and it got lost last week cos the package didn't arrive! Was so disappointed cos I really want the dress, not to mention I've already paid for it. Then it got sent back to the seller who then sent it back to me again and today I'm wearing it. Super comfy and it's stretchy too....click here to check it out. It comes in grey too!

Sorry it's a flat photo.....nobody to take picture of me wearing it so you should go to the blog shop to check it out. But it's been a hit! The girls at work all love it! Hehehehe....

Nice and not-so-nice office....

Why can't my work station look like this??? So nice....but BB would think it's messy though...hahaha...but I love a bit of mess cos it adds character...ohhh and the greeneries outside...hopefully there won't be mozzies to attack me though....too neat a work space and it looks sterile and I won't be able to work....this one is nice and inspiring....and now I can only dream on and then wake up as I walk into the permanently stinky basement toilet that smells perpetually of poo....I swear it's strengthening my ability to hold my breath....

And to give you an idea of how far the reality is.....here's my actual work desk....a teeeny tiny pigeon hole and it's so small that we hardly have space for anything else....and mine's really messy as you can see, but it's an organized piece of mess where I know exactly where everything is....what I really can't deal is the bloody aircon directly above my head cos it's pre-set at 19 degrees and it blows directly at my neck! Now that's the cause for my tight shoulders and neck and bloody hell, who's gonna compensate me for my acupuncture cost and when my liver give way to having one too many Sinflex tablets to stop the migraine and pain....grrrrr....I want a better office space!!! Pink if possible! Ohhh and if there's a well-stocked pantry like the one in Bloomberg, even better...Bloomberg has got the best pantry I've seen and it's like they've got a 7-11 plonked right in the middle of their office with drinks and snack galore...not THAT's employee's welfare....oh...btw, just so you know, I drink water from the tap....sigh....

Olfactory Ponderings

......milk, skin, postcards, antoine de saint-expury's the little prince's tenderness toward his rose, the warmth of the sun through your clothes in winter, powder, the way your heart expands after reading a great quote for the first time (more than that, it's like your rib cage and insides are being readjusted to accommodate what you now know), musc, the calm exhaustion after a cry (all that emotion just seeps out), first light, the spines of hardcover books, 缘份, white flower accords but only after dark, lacquer, fingers through your lover's hair, incandescence, vulnerability, when a friend becomes a friend, maple syrup on strawberry pancakes, the setting sun, arriving home, jealousy (why does it feel like you've been blanched in hot oil? you can almost feel every capillary throb with cortisol and adrenaline), the contented feeling in the taxi ride home after a good night out, the colour turquoise (ala the same color as my Anges B coin purse), 6" heels on cobble stones (Hello Paris? Meet Miss B's twisted ankle), melting butter, iPod playlists set on random, the euphoria of first kisses, rewatching your favourite movie on dvd, freedom and possession, cool marble, late night guests, a dress that fits you like a glove, the contented purr of Mr Bond, scrawly words in black ink, rainy weekends in bed with cuddles, vintage jewellery, naps, first day of the holidays, want, dove grey cotton, barefeet on wet verandah floorboards ... things i wonder how they'd smell if they had a smell, if i were a nose.......

And some of my all time favorites: annick goutal's petite cherie, diptyque l'ombre dans l'eau, narcisco roderiguez essence, bvlgari white tea....

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! The long weekend slipped by so damn quickly it didn't really feel like a long weekend :(

I can't remember when was the last time I had Easter eggs but I still remember my grandma used to buy me a basket of chocolate Easter eggs from the bakery below where I lived when I was young. There would be one large chocolate egg at least the size of my palm (now, not kiddy palms) with Smarties inside (it's hollow). Then there would be the smaller ones with creme chocolate inside or the solid chocolate ones....Those were the days....it suddenly makes me miss my grandma all over again.....And I wonder if the bakery there still sells Easter eggs....or is the bakery even still there? hmm.....

Pearly Glow

Great Product Alert!!!

I swear I'm not an Ettusais shareholder but I won't blame you if you think otherwise for the fact that I'm forever gushing about good Ettusais products...other than the slight prejudice I have for Ettusais for the fact that it used to be my baby (I was the PR and Marketing person of Ettusais once upon a time), they really make kickass products! And I have loads of Ettusais products at home and many of my friends have also started using Ettusais lately and start to really love it too...(yes, Ah Meow, Aaron and Jason?)...and Ettusais has just launched some awesome makeup items: Ettusais Sparkling Pack and Base Version Up UV....

I'm a sucker for glowing makeup and illuminating powder and when Ettusais came up with these duo, it's not possible to not try it! Right now, my secret weapon for glowing skin is the Sana CG Powder and I think these Ettusais skin glowing duo might have just been new favorites....

They're illuminating makeup that gives you a pearly glow to your face....Base Version Up UV is a makeup base with pearlized sparkles in it and a good SPF 20 PA+. You only need very little and don't have to use a hell lot cos a little goes a long way and it actually evens out skin tone and covers up pores a bit. Thing is, it's not very sparkly cos the sparkling pigments are subtle, so if you're gonna use a normal foundation over it, I doubt the sparkles are gonna show....but if you use it on its own as a sun block, it'll give a nice shimmer that's subtle...and it's non-greasy, lightweight and got good sebum control properties too!

But if you layer the Sparkling Pack powder foundation over it, you get a nice glow for sure! Thing is, it's not just a press powder though it does come across as one but it's a powder foundation formula that's quite long-lasting and super lightweight. Its got a light to medium coverage so it's best for everyday use but if you want something heavier, you'll need to wear a liquid foundation under though. But it's great for me on its own...it's got a SPF 10 PA+ sun protection which the Sana CG Powder doesn't have...

So now the verdict....if you want swift quick glow, Sana CG Powder's still the best cos you just spread it over whatever make up you're wearing and it's quick and convenient. But if you want glowing makeup with skincare properties...then the Sparkling Pack and Base Version Up UV are great for you.

Anyway, while picking up the Ettusais stuff, BB picked up a bag of mini Meringue at da Paolo  Gastronomia and they look soooo pretty and colorful which I feel compelled to take a picture of them....
Well Meringue's not known for it's great flavor cos it's just whipped egg white, sugar and vanilla....I don't care if they're yummy cos they're pretty! So gorgeous!

April Muse!

Reading: Monocle Magazine....I love this mag! It's full of fun articles and it's actually intellectual and interesting! It's marketed as a men's magazine but I think I love it more than BB...haha...a bit on the pricey side though cos it's $19 bucks...ouch...but it's worth it....very good quality read....talks about current affairs, business, culture and design stuff.....I'm hooked!
Listening to: Greatest Hits by Space...old album I know, but I've forgotten how much I love Space (one of my favorite UK bands!) until the other day on msn, Uncle Josh asked if I heard of the song "The Ballad of Tom Jones" (cos I was bitching about the psycho indo man wanting to sue Tom Jones)...and ah-ha! I totally miss this album! Love these tracks: Female of the Species, The ballad of Tom Jones, Avenging Angels etc...
Using: Ettusais Medicated Acne Aroma Body Wash....It smells divine and it's very similar to the Ayura Aromatic Body Wash I super love with a very unique fruity floral scent but unfortunately, Ayura is no longer available in Singapore and strangely, I found out this Ettusais aroma body wash smells the same as the Ayura one and it's even got the same texture...well, from the same company Shiseido I guess...but it's good stuff...smells so wonderful and you really need very little to go a loooong way (or you risk it being too drying on the skin)
Wearing: The new stretchy layered skirt....it's gonna be THE black skirt for me for awhile cos every now and then, I'll find one perfect black skirt and the old ones are now dead and this one shows sooo much promise and I bought it online on Black Hair Pin blog shop! It's super stretchy and super fitting to hug your curves and you can even adjust its length by tugging it shorter if you want the hemline to go up...soooo versatile...I'm tempted to buy a few more to stock up just in case this one dies quick...
Trying: Olay Total Effects with Cooling Essence....I've never been an Olay fan but then the whole cooling essence thing draws me in cos who doesn't love anything refreshing on their face in the morning, especially in our humid weather? So I'm now trying out the Olay Total Effects lotion with Cooling Essence. Well, it's indeed very refreshing and it gets absorbed real quick and it's not sticky...but don't expect the whole minty tingling feel though, it's just a very very mild cooling sensation. But the good thing about this is that it gets so quickly absorbed and I must say it's got a great texture. Only drawback is that it doesn't have a sunscreen though it makes a good day cream. Not sure if it'll really fight the 7 signs of aging though...but it's a cheap and good deal

Ohhh also trying Imedeen! Thing is, I bought the wrong one for my age group cos I'm supposed to get the Imedeen Radiant formula which is for 25 to 35-year-olds but I got the one up...I guess no harm cos I have rather dry skin anyway. Well thing is, it'll take about 3 months for it to really show effects it says...so I'll tell you how it goes maybe much later then...meanwhile, I'm religiously popping 2 of these everynight....smells weird though cos it smells like dried cuttle fish...yes, it's got a very fishy smell...but for the sake of beauty and anti-aging...the smell is nothing baby!
Eating: Lotte Mochi Ice Cream...woohoooo...rediscovering my childhood favorite with BB and this is super awesome except that it's kinda overpriced (about $8 bucks plus) and is only available at MedeiYa Supermarket....Cheaper in Hong Kong! But oh so divine!
Loving: Sigg Hello Kitty Water Bottle.....Courtesy of my lovely BB...I saw it and loved it but refused to buy it cos it's $49 bucks...I mean come on, $49 for a water bottle?? But then BB surprised me with it one night and when I log onto the Sigg website, I'm horrified to find out my Nalgene plastic bottle's been banned in US cos it's actually toxic...omg, I didn't know I've been drinking toxic water...now I'll stick to my super cute Hello Kitty Sigg Bottle....Kawaii plus!
Lusting after: Hello Kitty Wine!! Hello Kitty has sure grown up! And despite my status as teetotaler, I want these! Cool bottles too! The line of wines comes in four different varieties, priced between $19.99 - $29.99 and include:

Hello Kitty Sparkling Brut Rosé - A deep reddish pink sparkling rose made from 100% Pinot Noir that has a frothy mousse as well as a pretty nose of rose petal and red currant scents.

Hello Kitty Sparkling "Sweet Pink" (Half Size) - This semi-sweet sparkler sports a pale pink hue and has very delicate bubbles.
2008 Hello Kitty Angel White - This is a fresh, very "blanc" white wine made entirely from Pinot Noir free run juice.

2006 Hello Kitty Devil Red - Garnet red with brickish highlights, this is a classically rendered Pinot Noir that presents a seductive bouquet of wild flowers and forest aromas.
The line will hit US local liquor store within the next several months and the website will start shipping out samples by the end of next month.

You Don't Mess With Sir Tom Jones!

This morning's paper was kinda entertaining. Flip to MyPaper page A4 Home Section and you'll see a big headline Fan To File Suite Against Tom Jones. Click Here to go to MyPaper (31 March 2010)

Well apparently some Indonesian lawyer by the name of Hotman Paris Hutapea (who happens to be the aussie drug chick Schepelle Corby's legal team) was really pissed off at the fact that Tom Jones had to stop his concert last Friday at the Resort World Singapore (RWS) after singing two songs cos he's sick with laryngitis and he couldn't continue singing. Yes, it's a party pooper indeed and in fact, I told my friend that I'm glad I didn't go buy tickets cos otherwise I'll be upset. But thing is, the concert's been rescheduled and RWS isn't ripping the concert goers off with just a 2-song soiree and if I bought ticket and was disappointed, I would be fine if they make the effort to reschedule it so soon!

Well, this lawyer dude with a weird name  (What kind of name is "Hotman"? Sorry, but I did a double take and burst out in a roaring laughter after seeing the name) was not pleased when Sir Jones and the event management company decided to reschedule the concert to 1 April and Hotman would like to sue the pants off RWS and poor old grandpa Jones for falling sick and not being able to sing. The papers said he's filing a civil lawsuit of $2.8 million of punitive damages cos he bought the tickets and willingly flew all the way to Singapore from Indonesia to see the concert...Boohoohoo...poor HotArseman cos nobody forced him to come but he decided to come and 69-year-old Tom Jones fell sick and the concert had to be rescheduled! Now HotArseman's still not happy that the event organizer rescheduled and even offered a refund for those who can't make it on 1 April. Seriously? Filing a civil lawsuit of $2.8million punitive damage against Tom Jones and RWS? Are you kidding me??? And HotArseman actually told the newspaper that he's doing this to teach Tom Jones and RWS "a lesson".... What lesson?...ohhh very classy and very nice of you HotArseman! That totally shows how nice a person he is.......I guess I do learn a lesson of how wonderful a person HotArseman is indeed! How dare he sues my favorite hot grandpa!!! I love Tom Jones! And HotArseman calls himself a fan??? Where's the love for the old man who got ill? What big joke! I'm disgusted!

And being the curious person that I am (okay, nosy yes), I wonder how this HotArseman look and I went to Facebook and type in his name...and bam....

Hotman indeed!!!! *barf* I think I'd better refrain myself from calling him names like fucktard, twat, wanker, loser, fuckwit or the likes cos ohhh maybe he's gonna sue me now for expressing my opinion of what I think of him....
