Fat by Toiletries

You already know all the chemicals like sulphates, paraben etc in your toiletries are back for you but I just read this scary article that Phthalates, a very common chemicals found in 70% of toiletries and household cleaning products, is very much linked to weight gain and obesity and could very well be making you gain weight!

Apparently, doctors at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York claim that phthalates have been shown to throw the body’s natural weight control system, a delicate balance of hormones, off kilter. They suggest that exposure to phthalates through daily use may be linked to childhood obesity and weight problems in adults. Read more here!

Now that's some serious shit no? Time to look for "non-fattening" options without Phthalates!! I'm gonna go home and go through all my toiletries, read the labels, and do an "audit"....I think brands like Avalon Organics, Akin, John Masters Organics, Balance Me and Aromatherapy Associates do some pretty good Phthalates-free options...time to chuck out the shitty fattening toiletries!
